Driving in Bath – What to Expect
Bath offers a unique and varied driving environment, making it an excellent location to learn. Learners gain experience on a mix of road types, including:
The A36 and A4, providing exposure to steady, fast-moving traffic and key routes through and around the city.
Town centre roads such as Stall Street and Union Street, ideal for developing clutch control, positioning, and awareness in busy, often narrow streets.
Roundabouts and key junctions around Windsor Bridge Road and the A36 connections, helping build confidence with positioning and decision-making.
Retail areas such as SouthGate Shopping Centre and nearby car parks, useful for practising bay parking, observation, and low-speed manoeuvres.
Residential streets in areas like Oldfield Park and Combe Down, with narrower roads and parked cars, ideal for practising manoeuvres and hazard awareness.
Local routes towards villages such as Bathampton and Bradford-on-Avon, where learners practise anticipation, speed control, and handling varied road conditions.

What Our Students Have to Say

I came to Oneweekdrivingcourse through a friends suggestion after 40+ hour lessons and 3 failed attempts at the test centre.
The office were great at communication and I got assigned Darren within a short period of time.
Darren was exceptional at nailing down the issue of confidence and nerves whilst driving, he helped be build up the confidence and taught me life long skills for parking, he was confident, professional, calm and collected whilst really friendly and welcoming ! I passed my test with 2 minors On far more complex roads and junctions, all this thanks to Darren! I am now more than confident about my ability to drive. Recommend Darren any time of the day, what a great instructor !
The service I received was very professional and supportive. Chris was a patient and helpful instructor who taught me things I wish I’d known years ago! I liked the pacing and the breaks we took and I felt like he had a plan for where I needed to be. I ended up not going through with the test but I’ve no regrets – doing an intensive course means that I know a lot more about my driving ability

I was really doubting booking this 30hr course as spending so much money in one seemed like such a big risk, and there are many negative comments about doing intensive course, but it was completely worth it. Mark was a fantastic instructor, such a easy going instructor and gave great tips along the way. He was a massive help. Highly Recommend.
This past week has been very eventful to say the least. As a nervous passenger in a car following 2 previous accidents, I wondered whether it would feed into my driving. It has, but through the truly excellent teaching (and patience) of my instructor Garry Winship I am getting there. I was not ready for my test by the end of the week as the nerves meant that I would not be a safe driver at this
