Week One: Monday to Thursday
Week Two: Monday to Wednesday
The exact schedule may vary depending on the practical driving test date, which can be on any day of the week.

This provides up to 6 hours of driving tuition per day, delivered across 7 training days.
Practical Driving Test Booking Update
From 12 May 2026, only the learner driver will be able to book, change, or manage their practical driving test.
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency has made it illegal for any third party to have any involvement in the test booking process.
Our courses will continue to operate with the following options:
Book a Dedicated Course Week
Complete the majority of your course while saving time for your practical test. Once your test is booked, there may be opportunities to bring it forward to an earlier date.
Book Your Course and Schedule Later
Book your course and arrange your course week once you have booked your practical test. Your lessons will then be structured to lead up to your test date.
We will continue to provide support and guidance based on our experience to help you manage your practical test.
How the Course and Test Are Arranged
You will need to book your practical driving test yourself.
This should be done once your course is booked and at the appropriate stage. We will guide you on the best timing to ensure your training and test are aligned correctly.
What You Will Learn
You will be taught the full driving syllabus set by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, with your progress monitored and recorded using the recommended marking system.
Your training will begin with the fundamentals of driving, including:
- Vehicle control and moving off safely
- Steering, clutch control, and braking
- Basic road positioning and awareness
You will then progress onto more advanced skills, including:
- Junctions and roundabouts
- Manoeuvres
- Independent driving and decision-making
The extended duration of this course allows more time to practise and reinforce each skill, helping you build confidence at a steady pace.
Mock Test Preparation
To prepare you for your practical driving test, your instructor will carry out a full mock driving test.
They will act and give instructions in the same way as an examiner, helping you become familiar with the format and expectations of the real test.
This ensures that when you take your actual test, it feels familiar and you can remain calm and drive to the best of your ability.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 42 hours enough to pass?
This course is designed for learners with little to no driving experience, or those who would benefit from a more gradual and supported learning approach.
42 hours is typically used to build confidence, develop skills step by step, and progress towards test standard, although additional training may still be required depending on your progress.
What if I am not quite at that level yet?
If you are completely new to driving, feel nervous, or would benefit from learning at a slower pace, this course is suitable as it is designed to build your confidence and ability gradually.
If you are unsure, you should contact us before booking so we can assess your situation and ensure this is the most appropriate course for you.
Do I need to have my test booked before booking or starting?
No. In most cases it is better to book your course first so we can guide you on the best timing and help avoid delays or unnecessary additional lessons.
You can either:
- Book a fixed course week and complete the majority of your training while saving time for your practical test
- Book your course and schedule your training once your practical test is booked, allowing lessons to be structured leading up to your test date
Can I add more hours if needed?
Yes. If your instructor feels additional training is required, extra hours can be arranged to help you reach test standard before taking your practical driving test.
Additional hours are subject to instructor availability. It may also be necessary to move your practical test if further training is required, provided there is the required 10 working day gap set by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency before your test date.
How close to test standard should I be?
You do not need to be close to test standard for this course.
This course is designed to take you through:
- basic vehicle control
- moving off and stopping
- steering and road positioning
- junctions and roundabouts
- manoeuvres and independent driving
It focuses on building your confidence and ability gradually, progressing towards independence.
What are the advantages of booking a fixed course week?
Booking a fixed course week gives you the best opportunity to bring your practical test forward so it falls as close to your training as possible.
If a suitable test is found to coincide with your course week, you can complete the entirety of your training within that period. Alternatively, you can complete the majority of your hours and continue looking for a suitable test date to fit shortly after.
This option is also ideal if you need your course completed within a specific timeframe, such as pre-booked time off work or school holidays.
Overall, it provides flexibility, maximises your chances of securing a suitable test date, and allows your training to be completed in the most efficient way.
What are the advantages of scheduling your course once your practical test is booked?
Scheduling your course once your practical test is booked allows all of your training to be structured directly around your test date. This means your lessons are completed leading up to the test, helping keep everything fresh and focused.
This option is particularly suitable if you have already secured a test date and want your training aligned precisely to that time.
It provides a clear timeline, ensures your preparation is completed at the right stage, and allows your instructor to plan your training with your test date in mind.
Which option should I choose?
Both options are suitable depending on your situation.
Booking a fixed course week is generally the most flexible option, as it gives you the best opportunity to bring your practical test forward and complete your training within a clear timeframe.
Scheduling your course once your test is booked may be more suitable if you already have a confirmed test date and need your training aligned precisely to that time.
Will I definitely be test ready after 42 hours?
The course is designed to take you from the early stages of learning through to test standard, with additional time to build confidence and consistency.
If additional training is required, this can be arranged with your instructor. However, no course or instructor can guarantee that you will pass your driving test.
Which Intensive Driving Course Do I Need?
Choosing the right intensive driving course depends on your current level of experience:
- 6 Hour Retest Course – for returning customers who are already at test standard and need a short refresher before their test
- 12 Hour Retest Course – for learners who have recently failed and need focused preparation for a retest
- 18 Hour Course – for learners with 20 to 25 hours of experience, close to test standard
- 24 Hour Course – for learners with 15 to 20 hours of experience, developing independence
- 30 Hour Course – for learners with 10 to 15 hours of experience, building core driving skills
- 36 Hour Course – for beginners or those with very limited driving experience
- 42 Hour Course – for beginners who prefer a more gradual pace or would benefit from additional time to build confidence
- 48 Hour Course – for learners who require a slower, more supported approach with extra time to practise and develop confidence
If you are unsure which course is right for you, we recommend contacting us before booking so we can assess your experience and ensure your training and test timing are properly aligned.
