12hr Semi-Intensive Driving Course Retest Package Deal Information
🚗 Is this course right for you?
The 12 Hour Semi-Intensive Retest Course is designed for learners who have recently been unsuccessful in their practical driving test and need additional tuition before taking another attempt.
Lessons are spread over a longer period, giving you time to practice and improve between sessions. Your instructor will focus on the areas highlighted during your previous test, helping you correct faults, rebuild confidence and prepare thoroughly for your next practical driving test.
Why Choose a Semi-Intensive Driving Course?
Our Semi-Intensive Driving Courses are ideal for provisional licence holders who want to pass their driving test as quickly as possible without needing to take an entire week away from work, college or other commitments.
Instead of taking lessons once a week over many months, you’ll complete your training over several weeks with lessons scheduled closer together. This helps you build confidence, retain what you’ve learned and progress towards test standard much more quickly.
A semi-intensive course also gives you the opportunity to secure an earlier practical driving test, making it an excellent option for learners looking to overcome the current DVSA test backlog while still enjoying the flexibility to fit lessons around their lifestyle.

📅 12 Hour Retest Semi-Intensive Course Schedule
The 12 Hour Retest Semi-Intensive Driving Course is normally completed over approximately 4–6 weeks, making it ideal for learners preparing for a practical driving test retake who require additional tuition to improve their skills and confidence.
Lessons are arranged around your availability and your instructor’s diary, allowing you to focus on the areas that need improvement while preparing effectively for your next practical driving test.
Please Note
The 4–6 week timeframe is intended as a guide only. Course completion may vary depending on instructor availability, your lesson schedule, practical driving test availability and your location.
Practical Driving Test
We will guide you on the best way to book your practical driving test. This should be done after your course has been booked and at the appropriate stage of your training. We will advise you on the best timing to help ensure your training and practical test are aligned correctly.
You will also receive access to our Student Test Swapping Process, providing additional opportunities to secure the most suitable practical driving test date for your course.
If you already have a practical driving test booked, please select a course start date that allows approximately 4 to 6 weeks between the start of your training and your practical driving test.
Please note that course schedules may vary depending on instructor availability, your location, your availability for lessons and practical driving test availability.
From 12th May onwards, only the student will be able to book and make changes to their practical driving test.
The DVSA has made it illegal for any third party to have any involvement in the practical driving test booking process.
Flexible Lesson Scheduling
Our semi-intensive courses allow you to vary your lesson hours to suit your availability, in agreement with your instructor. You also have the flexibility to add extra lessons with your instructor should you feel additional tuition would be beneficial.
Lessons are scheduled close together so you don’t lose progress through large gaps between lessons, while avoiding the need to take a full week away from work or college.
Your driving instructor will contact you to arrange a suitable start date and discuss a rough lesson schedule. The more flexible you are with your availability, the easier it is to schedule your course within the estimated timeframe.
If you have limited availability, this may extend the overall duration of your course.
Theory Test
We book your Theory Test and provide full access to our TheoryTestPro online learning system. Your Theory Test is normally taken approximately 2 weeks after booking your course.
Once you have passed your Theory Test, please contact our office and we will provide further guidance on the practical driving test booking process.
Additional Information
The Semi-Intensive Driving Course combines the flexibility of weekly driving lessons with the benefit of having less time between lessons, allowing you to retain skills and build confidence more effectively.
Traditional weekly driving lessons often take 6–12 months to complete, a timescale that has increased further due to the continued demand for driving instructors and DVSA practical driving tests.
Our 12 Hour Retest Semi-Intensive Course is designed to help you prepare for your next practical driving test in a fraction of that time.
- There is a strict 48-hour cancellation policy on all scheduled lessons. Any lesson cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged or deducted from your course hours.
- Lessons are normally scheduled in 2-hour blocks.
- Breaks are not included within your course hours.
- Your practical driving test is usually taken during the final part of your course. Additional tuition time may be allocated where necessary if your test centre is some distance away.
- If you are unsuccessful in your practical driving test, the DVSA requires a minimum waiting period of 10 working days before another practical test can be taken, subject to test availability.
*Please note: All course timescales are intended as a guide and may vary depending on your availability, your instructor’s availability, your location and DVSA practical driving test availability.
