How Our Booking Process Works
Booking your course with One Week Driving Course is completed online. This guide explains exactly how the process works from booking through to your driving test.
- Choose the right course
Our intensive courses range from retest courses to longer beginner-friendly packages, including 18, 24, 30, 36, 42 and 48-hour options.
We also offer semi-intensive courses for those who prefer a more flexible schedule, allowing lessons to be spread over a longer period while still progressing faster than standard weekly lessons.
If you are unsure which course is suitable, you can request guidance before booking.
- Choose how to structure your course
You can choose one of the following options:
Option 1: Book a fixed course week
- You choose and book a course week in advance
- You complete the majority of your course during that week
- Time is saved for the practical test, which you will book yourself
- You may be able to bring your test forward to an earlier date if availability allows
✔ Ideal if you want to start quickly or require most of your course hours to be completed within a specific time period
Option 2: Book your course, then schedule around your practical test
- You book your course first
- You then book your practical test yourself
- Once your test is confirmed, we schedule your course to lead up to your test date
✔ Ideal if you want your training perfectly aligned with your test
- Book your course online
All bookings must be completed online:
Bookings cannot be made over the phone.
You can choose to pay:
- A deposit
- Or the full balance
If you choose to pay the deposit only, the remaining balance will be due on the first day of your course and paid directly to the instructor.
If you wish to pay the remaining balance by card at a later date, a 3% admin fee will apply. This payment must be made at least 4 working days before the start of your course.
Once your booking is received, we begin arranging your course.
- DVSA update – practical test booking (from 12th May)
From 12th May, new rules introduced by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency apply:
- Only the student can book their practical driving test
- Only the student can make changes to the test
- Third parties are not permitted to manage test bookings
This means:
- We cannot book or change your practical test on your behalf
- You are responsible for securing your test date
We will still provide support, guidance and advice to help you through the process.
- Check availability and pricing
Course prices vary depending on:
- Course length
- Course format
You can check availability and pricing using the postcode checker on our website.
This will confirm whether we cover your area and the cost of your chosen course.
- Theory test (if required)
If you have not yet passed your theory test:
- We will book one theory test for you
- You will receive access to TheoryTestPro to help you prepare
Once you pass:
- You must keep us up to date with your theory test results
If you do not pass your theory test and have booked a dedicated course week, your course will still go ahead on the scheduled week while you arrange to retake your theory test.
Once you have passed, you should then look to book your practical test as soon as possible.
If you have selected the option to schedule your course once your theory test is passed, your course will be arranged after:
- You have passed your theory test
- You have booked your practical driving test
- Instructor allocation and scheduling
After booking:
- An instructor is allocated based on your location and availability
- Your instructor will contact you directly
They will arrange:
- Lesson dates
- Pick-up location
- Course structure
Scheduling depends on instructor availability and your chosen course option.
- Complete your course
Lessons are conducted on a one-to-one basis.
- Intensive courses are completed over a shorter time frame
- Semi-intensive courses are spread over a longer period
Your instructor will assess your progress and focus on areas that require improvement.
- Take your practical test
When your test date arrives:
- You will attend your practical driving test
- Use of the instructor’s car is subject to their approval
Please note:
- A pass cannot be guaranteed
- The DVSA examiner makes the final decision
Before you book
Before booking, please ensure:
- You hold a valid UK provisional licence
- You are available to complete your course
- You understand that you must book your own practical test
