Bangor offers a varied driving environment, making it an excellent location to learn. Learners gain experience on a mix of road types, including:

The A5 and A487, providing exposure to steady, fast-moving traffic and key coastal and regional routes.

Town centre roads such as High Street and Deiniol Road, ideal for developing clutch control, positioning, and awareness in busier areas.

Roundabouts and key junctions around Farrar Road and the A5 connections, helping build confidence with positioning and decision-making.

Retail areas such as Deiniol Shopping Centre and nearby car parks, useful for practising bay parking, observation, and low-speed manoeuvres.

Residential streets in areas like Maesgeirchen and Hirael, with narrower roads and parked cars, ideal for practising manoeuvres and hazard awareness.

Local routes towards villages such as Bethesda and Menai Bridge, where learners practise anticipation, speed control, and handling varied road conditions.

What Our Students Have to Say

I had a great experience with One Week Driving Course, definitely worth the money.
I did the 36 hour week intensive course with Mike Cockayne, who was a great instructor. He made the week fun and easy to learn. On the many occasions I made a mistake he explained in full detail so I could try to avoid making the same mistakes.
With Mikes help I felt fully prepared and ready for the test at

Jaydine Taylor
Location:Northampton
Instructor:Mike Cockayne

I did a 30 hour course with Mike and passed the test on my first attempt. I was a bit nervous to start but the lessons helped to build my confidence and my driving skills. Mike was quick to adjust the lessons to focus on parts I was finding difficult and as a result I was able to see continual improvements throughout each day. By the end of the week we had practised so many test routes that I was pretty comfortable taking the test. Would recommend Mike and oneweekdrivingcourse to anyone who wants to learn to drive.

Absolutely brilliant instructor. Clear, patient, helpful and fantastic knowledge. Easy to get on with and an all round nice person. Wouldn’t have anybody else. He helped me get a first time pass.

Joseph Cooper - Rochdale

I work abroad so regular driving lessons weren’t really an option. The 36 hour intensive course over 6 days was ideal whilst I was back home. Very easy to book online followed very shortly by a few emails with all the information you need for the course and test. Also quick to respond to a few questions I emailed through.

The instructor, Dler Khedor, in the Rochdale area was great. He had a calm and relaxed approach. Provided a wealth of information to build your general understanding of road etiquette and car operation whilst repeatedly emphasising the key points that you need for the test. Easy to get along with and down-to-earth.
